While growing up, entering the new year was everything to me, it was more than a change in calendar and "Happy New Year" chants, it was everything! I felt the change of year in my skin and bone marrow too.
Over the years, I have metamorphosed into the elegant damsel that I am (yes ke! I resume this year with steady hypes). Okay, now that I'm ALL grown, my idea and vibe for the new year has changed. I moved from giggly, to unbothered, to it's-no-big-deal, to super grateful.
Just so you know, I am currently in super grateful mood and I don't see that ever changing. The bible says in ALL things give THANKS.
I can't exactly say when I grew an unbothered behaviour toward the New Year festivities. To me it was just like "ehn shey it's just calendar that will change, the sky is not changing, nothing happened". But I stand (well sit and type) corrected, it is more than just a calendar shift or change. It's survival by mercy and grace, it's 365 or 366 days of waking and sleeping, it's the safe ride home, the vacation and baecation. It's the presence of life, through the grace of God.
So, when I think and realise I made it to 2021, I feel psyched up, in my mind, I'm like "yippee! I'm alive to tell my children about 2020; the year I lived at home and accomplished a lot".
I just know that this year 2021 will be great, not just for me, but for everyone. It's more than a gut feeling. it's a declaration.
With this I close, "2021 is a splendid year". Have fun, till I publish my next post.
Isaiah 43:19
BECAUSE I AM DOING SOMETHING NEW! NOW YOU WILL GROW LIKE A PLANT. SURELY YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE. I WILL EVEN MAKE A ROAD IN THE DESERT, AND RIVERS WILL FLOW THROUGH THAT DRY LAND.
Side Dish: I thought the letters I made bigger (in the blog post) will form a word, or something I can add acronym to, but based on logistics and visible evidence, neither a word nor acronym was formed. Hence, me typing out the letters here like I added meaning to them...
W stands for ...
O stands for ...
J stands for ...
I stands for ...
S stands for ...
