A common case of Peckathoraxsitities

Hi, happy new month! So today I was searching through my lockdown posts and something there gave me a nostalgic feeling...

It was a bright sunny or maybe not so sunny day, the 3rd day of the total lockdown, and after a busy moment of cleaning, I had the opportunity to carry out a surgery on a dead chicken (moment of silence for the long digested chicken😒), I'm glad I didn't say pass me the forceps during this "procedure"...

Here goes the story

In all my years as the designated chicken washer of my house (that thing should legit be a title), I have always had a feeling that the cause of death of all the chickens we ate, was our cravings for chicken (nothing more), not until I met this patient (the chicken). While carrying out the surgery on this chicken, I concluded that not only my want for chicken and the apparent need of my house to stock up killed it or even the knife in the well-skilled hand of the butcher, but instead...... drum roll, pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯

The size of its heart...
In my years of acquired expertise (hmm all these apọnle [accolades] for chicken washing?) I have never seen a bird with such a large heart... so I took my time in cleansing the heart off all visible impurities... and like play, like play (like a joke), it was still large... hmmm what could be going on?πŸ’πŸ€”

You know the way they say 'curiosity killed the cat'? Well, this girl isn't a cat so curiosity helped her... back to my story,

I left the heart and proceeded to the neck, and there it was, the answer to all my chicken-related questions.
A boil looking massive papule (I want to make it sound big, and I ended up typing-in-the-unknown), it looked like a large pimple, a boil, and even a blackhead, hmm did this chicken have a pimple? (Do chickens have pimples?). Alas, it was just fat build-up, Adie to yẹ ko wa lori treadmill🀣🀣 (chicken that was meant to be on a treadmill).

This journey I tell you was stressful, the surgery took about an hour (wait first, can surgeries be carried out on dead patients? 'Cos this chicken was long gone... if no, then exploratory laparoscopy?).

Oh well, to the family of the deceased chicken (that I named Chicky), I announce to you... your sister died because she loved too much... her heart was sweet (I can testify because I ate it)... she also died of peckathoraxsitities /pec.ka.toe.rax.see.tie.teas/ (this is the place you call Wole Soyinka and tell him he has a scholar); a common case of being pecked by fellow birds while in the cage...

Much love from me, her doctor, friend, cleaner, and eater.

Now, this write up brought something to me, and guess what? It's the love God has for each and every one of us... like He sent his only Son, with so much love in his heart, Jesus died for our sins...
So I close with this

John 3:16 (MSG): This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
