Disobedience has many ways of kicking you in the rib cage, especially those little little "tombolo" ones... like it will just hit you without expectation.
Which brings me to my experience. Back in 2013 or 2014 ( this 'back in' of a statement makes me feel elderly HEHEHE🤣). I went for a 12-day camping leadership program known as 'sea school'. It was one of my most enjoyed childhood/teenage memories. During that period, I met new people, got to know the people I already knew better, went out of my comfort zone in exercises and so other stuff.
So (the way I like this word ehnnnn), on a certain day during the training, we were expected to walk a long distance, in fact very long (about 32 km or thereabout). It was the ever anticipated Tarkwa Bay Walk. The going (like going to Tarkwa Bay) was chilled, it was cool, calm, fun and not nerve piercing, but you see that coming back, a different ball game. We had played away our energy, swam in the sea, even eaten.
So, when we first going, they had told us to walk in groups, don't be alone, walk-in large groups, they spiced our fear of walking alone with "there are wild pigs in the area", so we should beware. Your baby girl heard all of these and decided to exercise her modelling career and cat-walk at the back (with A friend though). Hmmm, the price of disobedience, hot tears, it's not like we were at the back-back (embrace the Nigerian in me, back-back is a word), teachers were behind us... but NOOO! Our major sea-school instructor took it upon himself to hide in the bushes and scare our skins off our skeletons
My oh my, we ran... we ran like our lives depended on the run, we heard his voice and ran as fast as our petite bodies could carry us (I didn't even know I could run). If only I had listened to all the "walk-in large groups" instructions, maybe, just maybe I won't have burnt the calories I did that day, maybe the little I lost is what I need for my weight gain journey.
- Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Moral lesson is; Obeyyyyy! No instruction is too small to neglect, look at my friend and me, we ran for our lives only to see our co-ordinator laughing at us like we legit wasted our energy and even screamed in a very avoidable situation. If we had walked with our classmates, we definitely wouldn't have been shouting each other's names while saving ourselves.
Well, that's that about that,
1 Samuel 15:22:
But Samuel answered,
“What pleases the Lord more:
burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience?
It is better to obey God than to offer a sacrifice.
It is better to listen to God than to offer the fat of male sheep.
And for the first-ever song recommendation...
