It's Okay to Feel

Hi there family members!

Long time no post/content/blog? It's been a hot minute since I last poured out my thoughts on paper. So, how's life treating you? Take a second to check in with yourself.

These past few months have been quite a ride, you know? As you may or may not know I left the one shore of Nigeria and embarked on this journey to chase another degree. And let me tell you, it's been like a rollercoaster of emotions. I've had more alone time than I can count, and it's given me the chance to think about stuff, reminisce, and just float around in my own world.

You know, some days I'm bursting with excitement, and on others, well, let's just say it's not all rainbows and unicorns. At first, I felt bad about feeling down because I thought I didn't have a right to be sad when others might have it harder. But you know what? I realized that my feelings are totally valid, no matter what the circumstances are.

Like, I miss my family back home big time. Those little things, you know? The smell of my dad's perfume, jumping on him while he begs me not to break his glasses—those moments are precious. And the times when I was on my own, doing my thing (little miss semi-independent), yeah, I kind of miss that too. It's weird, but even the hustle and bustle of work life is something I find myself longing for it.

So, here's what I've learned: it's okay to feel all these things. Our emotions are part of who we are, and they don't make us any less loved by God. The verse, Psalm 139:14 AMP says, "I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well." Isn't that just awesome? You (insert your name ) are/is fearfully and wonderfully made, and your emotions are part of that beautiful package (buy one get 1 free). When we pour out our hearts to God, it's like He's giving us a big bear hug, letting us know that it's all gonna be okay. 1 Peter 5:7 AMP "casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]"

So, family and friends, let's embrace our feelings, the ups, and the downs. Life's not always a walk in the park, but remember this: we're God's children, and He loves us like Kilode. He's got our back,  through the laughter and the tears.

Love you all to bits,
