The Perfect Recipe

Hellooooo everybody, How are youuuuuu?... Well, I AM GRAND, GOOD, POPPING and most likely eating... In fact, that's what led to this very short write-up I'm about to rustle up. I am also going to pretend like I've not been MIA (missed in action) for a while. So here we go

Over the years I have gathered a sufficient amount of kitchen knowledge from my mom, most of our bonding moments are with the cooker and heat extractor and maybe a couple of pots and spoons. I pride myself on the knowledge that I am a GOOD COOK. It's one of the many things I can boldly say I can do. I also enjoy cooking and that one is not even by choice, it's by the condition.

So a couple of months or maybe weeks (that transient moment between October and September), I made macaroni (my version of macaroni) and I was asked for the recipe, as per the lọwọ sibi (hand of spoon/ spoonful hand) that I am... this recipe writing thing is where I entered one chance, hmmm, I, in all honesty, did not know what to write, I literally just add like all types of pepper I find, some curry, some thyme, a dash of everything in the freezer for most of it. I thought long and hard and still didn't figure out what my recipe entails, in fact, I realised I had no recipe for any food... I just whip ingredients together and hope for the best outcome. Thennnnn, I realise one crucial element constant in most of my meals; A WORD OF PRAYER. It's something my mom taught me, a simple "Holy Spirit come and cook this meal with me" goes a long way in the taste of the food. It's not like every meal I make I remember to pray, but once I remember, right there and then I pray, even if it's toast bread.

In conclusion, there is nothing too little to pray about, that blink you are about to blink and you are not sure about (this seems like tautology) PRAYYY!!! That course you are about to drop, the drama you want to act, the reply to that bully, the comforting of your pet, the table that hit your tiny toe (I stand to believe that the table hits my toe and not vice versa) PRAY.

Philippians 4:6-7

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (just because it's highlighted pink in my bible🙂)
