Hello
everybody, Hope you're feeling fine... Hope you're feeling? Hope you're
feeling? Hope you're feeling FINEEEEEE...
Good
day lovers, we are finally in the last month of the year. Yes, dear, we made
it, this year was one loooong roller coaster, and I think it's safe to say the ride is almost over (off to another rollercoaster), or like I heard from
someone "the game is almost over, time shout JUMANJI"
Either
way regardless of how we want to describe the year, the reality is that God saw
us through. Soooooo with a grateful heart "Merry Christmas" (in
advance).
Before
I proceed, I'd love you to grab the following as we are about to watch,
re-watch, and or analyse a movie.
P.S.
Spoilers might be involved. (I can spoil the story, but never the action)
Okay
here's what to grab:
- Your popcorn or puff puff (as per the movie
snack)
- Your cold drink
- Your headphone/earpiece/Air Pods/air buds (all
are listening devices)
- You would also like to cushion yourself in a
comfortable chair
The earpiece is for Christmas carols
e.g. A Tori Kelly Christmas😉
Dum Dum Dum... Cue to a drum roll🥁, Loud claps👏 and all hypes🎬
The movie we (the two both of us) will be watching
is JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY
Okayyyy meh we go: So, let's start with the
character descriptions (the needed characters only)
1. We have JENONICUS JANGLE: Our main character,
who will be our obedient follower of Christ.
2. We also have GUSTAFSON: Our borrowing uncle whom
I have no words for.
3. Our last and probably the least, the devil in
devils clothing DELACROIX
Okayyyyyy!
So, we have this vast brother very good at what he
does, lucrative business, he was a popping black man. The Idris Elba with a
touch of the saint, his name is JERONICUS. Jeronicus owned the best toy shop,
everything was alive. I mean EVERYTHING. Maybe except cloth and dust.
Jeronicus was good at his job and at first, when I
met him (abi his character, same difference), I thought he was proud, and
didn't give his apprentice a listening ear (my opinion though). So fast forward
to when things became JUICCCCYYYYY...
"Mr GUSTAFSON sir, your character
is needed oh" (please ladies and gentlemen,
there is a certain somebody in my life named Zion, she is responsible for the
Yoruba exclamation you just read). So, at some point in Jeronicus life, he made
a breakthrough, he got the slam dunk of inventions. He made DELACROIX.
Delacroix was what you'll call an AI (Artificial Intelligence) doll, with an
uncanny zeal for theft. In his exact words, it's "borrowing
indefinitely" (it's a first-time phrase to me too).
So back to this Gustafson case, baba decided to
listen to Delacroix, who was playing the role of the devil (perfectly might I
say), and stole from Jeronicus, this youngling (Gustafson), didn't just steal
one thing, he stole everything (minus material sha), and built a career out of
it. Jeronicus fought, looooog and harddddd, but he didn't win custody of his
inventions (cue to an old woman sitting by the fire voice). Kani'pe (If) I were
Jeronicus, after all, my wahala (troubles) I will just go and start selling
dodo (fried plantain), but this Guy (remember He is our follow of Christ),
didn't give up, he tried to start again, but alas... His village people are
strong... In the end, he gave up...
Hmm, Uncle Gustafson, you see what you caused?
Gustafson whereas was balling, he was living la Vida Loca, with another man's
invention note... and as for Delacroix, his personal devil. He/It was his
partner in everything, mind you Dela-bobo had made Gustafson burn up the
invention notes to making him... as a matter of fact Gustafson was Dela-bobo's
puppet.
So that's how Gustafson, entered one chance (he was
in a tight corner), after many years of releasing one of Jeronicus inventions
under the cover of 'this years' special', inventions
finished and he needed to steal again, sorry borrow indefinitely to update his
yearly collection. So, as usual, he went to where he started from, Jeronicus
place, one thing led to another, in fact, manyyyyyy things led to another, and
guess what He was caught. Now here is what captured me in the
entire movie, when Gustafson was caught, no one cared to say, "arrest the
doll, he motivated the stealing", I mean NO ONE, all eyes were on
Gustafson. not like Delacroix was pardoned or something, but no public
disgrace, he was going to be formatted, and brought back to life (what
assurance do we have that he won't come back evil?). Anywho Gustafson was
arrested. Jeronicus got his inventions back, made another breakthrough (which
I'll love to describe as majorer; somebody please call Professor Wole Soyinka).
In the end, some life lessons were learnt
- Those who wait on the Lord will surely be blessed. Jeronicus waited, never rushed, he gave up at some point though,
but somehow found a way to regain his strength (Like Elijah {1Kings19}.
- Another lesson learnt is that no one will blame the devil for tempting you. Delacroix was the devil in every way, he tempted and motivated Gustafson to do all the evil he couldn't do, as per he couldn't become human and do it himself, and he wanted to be the only one of his kind. At the end of the day, when Gustafson was arrested by the police, I'm very sure he won't get to court and claim, "the toy tempted me, I'm innocent".
With this I close, if you haven't watched Jingle
Jangle, check it out on Netflix, it's a musical by the way, so get ready to
sing along. Once again Merry Christmas🎄🎅🤶
Special thanks to my baby girl
Oluwatofunmi Zion, for motivating me to finally type, and for being my personal
Yoruba dictionary.
And thanks to everyone that reminded me
to post on my blog😘.
There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on
the earth:
A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.
